Why Plot?
Why not?!
My career has many inflection points—moments when I felt a push leap into the new. Each added a new layer to my perspective on design and business and showed me that entrepreneurship is about connecting needs, time/place, and capability.
Let’s start with needs: design is falling short of what clients need. Companies depend on design more to weave product, operations, and delivery into stories their customers would want to be in, a complex creative task that calls for applied thinking and original making that matches the speed of markets. Instead, they find a lot of ‘pregurgitated’ offerings—templates, tutorials, and mockups. We need a new approach—one that is agile and creative, uses every tool in the tech box, and connects client and studio to produce magnetic, gut-punching creative, and refreshingly no-BS work.
Then, there are time and place. During my last trip to Buenos Aires, I ran into an old friend on the plane (another Diego, another Argentinean, an architect at a similar time in his practice.) He was ecstatic about his experience collaborating with teams in Argentina. When I landed, I understood why—the country is experiencing a creative surge. After years of stagnation, people are infectiously in building mode. At this point in the story, I have to share that I was formed as a designer in Argentina, although it took me some time to appreciate Argentine design’s unique approach—how it cuts through the noise with visual anchors that instantly, actually mean something. That creative attitude is more relevant today than it’s ever been.
Shortly after arriving in Buenos Aires, I met with Nico for coffee. After a quick catchup, Nico brought up the idea of starting a design group. I’ve known Nico for years, and this was probably not the first time he brought it up. Having just connected need, time, and place, this time I listened. Nico is a proven, young entrepreneur who tapped into his generation’s pulse and moves at today’s speed. We have many overlapping interests and passions and our combined perspectives can fill a gap in the market that few are even seeing.
So there I was, discussing the state of design at a time of accelerating change, in a place where people are looking at the future for the possibility it holds, connecting experience and ambition.
How could I say no?
Plotting Plot
Starting today, we’re launching a series of posts chronicling our progress and documenting our decisions—creating a living archive we can come back to. This isn’t just an internal record. It’s also a space we’re opening to others to join and be part of our growth.
With a commitment to transparency, we’ll our path and creative process with everyone who wants to be part of our journey, reflecting the spirit with which we plan to contribute to our client’s growth—with agility and true collaboration.
Plot is rethinking what it means to help accelerate/grow companies through design. We’re fusing experience and agile practice to rethink every aspect of the creative business: our offerings, methodology, and the studio-client relationship.
We're looking for forward-thinkers and doers to join us. Go ahead and hit that subscribe button—share your thoughts, challenge us, and let’s see where this goes. We’re all ears, and we’re just getting started.
Cheers,
Diego
